Intelligence (ΔΙΑ-ΝΟΗΣΙΣ in Greek) is poorly defined especially from IT researchers and computer scientists. And normally they are focused on KATA-ΝΟΗΣΗ (understanding in English) ignoring completely the umbrella term, in Greek (ΝΟΗΣΙΣ) from (ΝΟΥΣ) spirit in English.
Most important it is naïve to separate intelligence from the relation it has to other concepts such as mentality, sentimentality, spirituality and consciousness. On the other hand you have the completely mechanistic perspective of a human with the brain (encephalon - you know the mass that is inside your head) in contrast with the mind (νους - the eye of your soul).
Well, I know I have gone too far, but you see it’s not a coincidence that there are such delicate differences in the meaning of words and especially in the Greek language that is so rich in semantics and compositionality. Would you expect a machine to “conceive” that richness in meaning, in semantics ? What kind of machine “intelligence” are we really talking about ?
